Internet addresses set for change

In a move that is set to transform the online world, the Internet regulator has approved plans to allow non-Latin-script web addresses,. The board of Icann voted at its annual meeting in Seoul to allow domain names in Arabic, Chinese and other scripts.  Icann president Rod Beckstrom: “It’s really momentous”

At FR2DAY we have more than enough problems here in France with the occasional accent or cedille so heaven knows how they are going to cope when it comes to creating   a URL in Mandarin! And speaking of Chinese; it appears they have just had the launch of the  iPhone BUT sadly it will be without WiFi and at a starting price of $730
